WTC Subrogation Action Arising from the 9/11 Terrorist Attack
I was part of a team working for the plaintiffs – several large commercial insurance companies – who brought a multi-billion dollar subrogation action against airlines and other companies for their alleged roles in failing to prevent the 9/11 attack in NY. While the case was replete with the mundane minutia of policy language and spreadsheets, the testimony was augmented with a simple and more memorable introduction. In it, I designed an intuitive and citable series of four interactive presentations, each of which told the story of a representative sample of one insured party. The four tenants’ movements were each mapped and associated costs tabulated beginning on the day of the attack, through to temporary accommodations, and finally to locations which provided a return to business normalcy some years thereafter.
